"A Triumph of Surgery" is a story about a little dog, Tricki. His rich mistress used to overfeed him. He became very fat. He could hardly walk. One day he stopped eating. His mistress worried about him. She sent for a vet, Mr Herriot who knew Tricki's problem. He told Mrs Pumphrey that the dog was seriously ill and would have to be taken to the surgery for a fortnight. There he gave the dog, no medicine and for two days he kept an eye on it. He gave it no food but plenty of water.  The dog got enough exercise through running and playing with other dogs. When Mr Herriot told   Mrs Humphrey that the dog was out of danger. Mrs Humphrey started to bring round fresh eggs to build up Tricki's strength. She also sent wine and brandy for Tricki. After a fortnight, Mr Herriot rang her up. He told the dog was all right.  Mrs Pumphrey came to take Tricki back. She found him transformed. Now he looked very active and full of life. Mrs Pumphrey called It "A Triumph of Surgery". Thus Tricki became all right with the help of Mr Herriot.


"ए ट्रायम्फ ऑफ सर्जरी" एक छोटे कुत्ते ट्रिकी की कहानी है। उसकी अमीर मालकिन उसे काफी दूध खाना खिलाती पिलाती थी। जिस कारण वह बहुत मोटा हो गया। वह मुश्किल से चल पाता था। एक दिन उसने खाना बंद कर दिया। उसकी मालकिन को उसकी चिंता थी। उसने एक पशु चिकित्सक, मिस्टर हेरियट को भेजा, जो ट्रिकी की समस्या को जानता था। उसने मिसेज पम्फ्रे से कहा कि कुत्ता गंभीर रूप से बीमार है और उसे एक पखवाड़े के लिए सर्जरी के लिए ले जाना होगा। वहां उसने कुत्ते को कोई दवा नहीं दी और दो दिन तक उस पर नजर रखी। उसने उसे भोजन नहीं बल्कि भरपूर पानी दिया। दौड़ने और अन्य कुत्तों के साथ खेलने से कुत्ते को पर्याप्त व्यायाम मिला। जब मिस्टर हेरियट ने मिसेज हम्फ्री को बताया कि कुत्ता खतरे से बाहर है। श्रीमती हम्फ्री ने ट्रिकी की ताकत बढ़ाने के लिए गोल ताजे अंडे लाना शुरू किया। उसने ट्रिकी के लिए वाइन और ब्रांडी भी भेजी। एक पखवाड़े के बाद, मिस्टर हेरियट ने उसे फोन किया। उसने कहा कि कुत्ता ठीक गया । ट्रिकी को वापस लेने के लिए मिसेज पम्फ्रे आई। उसने उसे स्वच्छ  पाया। अब वह बहुत सक्रिय और जीवन से भरपूर लग रहा था। श्रीमती पम्फ्रे ने इसे "सर्जरी की एक विजय" कहा। इस प्रकार मिस्टर हेरियट की मदद से ट्रिकी ठीक हो गई।
