Answer: The traveller finds himself standing at a point where the road divides into two different paths. He faces the problem of choosing one road because he cannot travel both roads at the same time.

2. Discuss what these phrases mean to you.

(i) “a yellow wood”

(ii) “it was grassy and wanted wear”

Means:  the road was less used and very few people had walked on it.

(iii) “the passing there”

Means:  the people who walked on the roads.

(iv) “leaves no step had trodden black”

Means: the leaves on the road were still fresh because nobody had stepped on them.

(v) “how way leads on to way”

Means:  one path leads to another path, and it becomes difficult to return to the starting point.

3. Is there any difference between the two roads as the poet describes them?

     क्या कवि द्वारा वर्णित दोनों सड़कों में कोई अंतर है?

Answer: At first, the poet thinks one road is less travelled and grassy. But later he realizes that both roads were actually almost the same because both had been equally used.

4. What do you think the last two lines of the poem mean?

     आपको क्या लगता है कि कविता की आखिरी दो पंक्तियों का         क्या मतलब है?

Answer: The last two lines mean that the poet chose a different path in life from others, and this decision changed his life completely. The poet feels that his choice made an important difference in his future.
