The Snake and the Mirror –Question Answer




1. What sound did the doctor hear? How many times did he hear it?

The doctor heard a sound like rats running in the room. He heard the sound three or four times. The sound stopped when the snake fell from the roof.

2. What two important and “earth-shaking” decisions did the doctor take while he was looking into the mirror?

The doctor took two decisions. First, he decided to shave every day and grow a thin moustache. Second, he decided to keep an attractive smile on his face.

3. What was the doctor’s opinion about himself when he first smiled and when he smiled again?

When the doctor first smiled, he thought he was handsome, smart and attractive. He felt proud of himself. But when he saw the snake, he became very frightened. He forgot about his looks and thought only about saving his life. Thus, his thoughts changed from pride to fear.
